Electric Multiple Selecter Valve
Brief Introduction
1. Application
DTF series of electric multiple selector valve is a kind of special electrical valve used in oilfield metering station oil, natural gas gathering and transportation as well as single well oil, gas metering well selection control (Patent No.: 200720079522.0). It has replaced the manifold and electrical three-way ball valve set in the old-fashioned metering station and it applies not only to thin oil medium but also to heavy oil medium. It works with the metering device (such as our company’s LET-II type separate metering device or LES-I type double-volume metering device) in the metering station, which can achieve the remote and local “Automatic back reaming and automatic metering” of the metering station.
2. Superiorities
A set of  multiple selector valve has replaced over ten sets of electrical three-way ball valves and manifolds in the metering station for metering back-reaming, which has simplified the technical process, saved equipment investment, reduced the workload of equipment maintenance and narrowed the infrastructure area and saved huge human and material resources.
Based on the characteristics of heavy oil medium: the sand content is big, the scour and wear to the valve become heavier and shorten the service life of the valve sealing, our company adopts multiple new technologies and new techniques, which has solved the problem of sealing the heavy oil medium that has puzzled us for years and made the product have the advantages of abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, reliable sealing, long service life and simple operation, etc.

DTF series of multiple selector valve is a standard intelligent  valve: 

① can directly receive the control-signal sent by the upper machine (DCS, PLC and so on) to select well and fix position, meanwhile, output the valve position feedback signal to the upper machine. The control signal is four binary digits switching quantity (DO); the feedback signal is 4-bit binary switching quantity (DI) and the signal connection has achieved standardization. 

② Compared to other products , it does not need the wall-mounted “control box for PLC ”. 

③ Local operation and debugging are available with remote control. 

④ If necessary, a XMPI5000 manual operator of multiple selector valve  can be added between valve and the upper machine: when the operator is in the state of “manual”, the multiple selector valve is controlled by the manual operator; when the operator is in the state of “automatic”, the multiple selector valve is controlled by the upper machine. No matter what kind of control modes, the actual valve position is always displayed on the manual operator, at the same time, the actual valve position signal is also transmitted to the upper machine synchronously by the manual operator in the way of 1:1.

3. Operation Mode
DTF series of multiple selector valve has three modes: manual operation mode, local remote control operation mode and control room wired operation mode.
Manual operation: operate through the hand wheel on the electric controller as well as the pointer on the valve shaft and the dial on the valve body. The operation mode is used only for the operation during blackout.
Local remote control operation: when the electric controller is live, use the attached remote control to operate in the state of “local” operation.
Control room wired operation: when the electric controller is live, use the attached remote control to enter the state of “remote” operation, at the time, the electric controller can receive the control signals sent by the upper machine at all times and automatically select well and fix position according to the control signals.

Structure and Principle
1. Structure Description
Take DTF-12-2.5 multiple selector valve for example to describe the structure of DTF series and see the attached drawing at the back-“the structural drawing (1) and (2) of DTF-12-2.5 type electric multi-valve”. It consists of seat, valve body, valve bonnet, turn arm, valve rod, support, shaft coupling, stuffing, seal components and electric controller, etc. On the circumference of the valve bonnet, there are 12 DN50 oil-ins (A1~A12) every 30°; on the valve body pot. There is a DN150 joint outlet; at the bottom of the valve body, there is a DN50 metering outlet; one end of the shaft coupling connects with the valve rod of  multiple selector valve and the other end connects with the output shaft of the electric controller; the support is used to install the electric controller; the base seat is used to support and fix the electric multiple selector valve. The material of the valve bonnet is stainless steel (2Cr13); the materials of valve body, turn arm, valve rod, shaft coupling, support and stand are carbon steel.
2. Working Principle
The electric controller moves in a circle at even speed (forward or backward) under the control of the positioning control signals of the upper machine and its valve rod drives the turn arm to move in a circle at even speed synchronously. The oil-ins (A1~A12) correspond to control code (K1~K12) respectively, when the inlet in the turn arm in just in alignment with the outlet designated by the control code under the valve bonnet, the electric controller will stop, at the time, the crude oil flowing into the multi-way valve through the oil-in will flow out through the “metering outlet” via the turn arm (to meter devices); while the other crude oil flowing into multi-way valve flows out through the “joint master outlet” after joint (Gathering and transportation pipelines). In the state of “local” operation, the electric controller carries out the action of well selection according to the control code sent by the remote control.
In practical use, when the electric controller is controlled to stop moving, there is always an oil-in connecting with the “metering outlet” via the turn arm, that is, there is always an oil well is gated, which had no impact on the multi-way valve, but the connected metering device at the back cannot be always in the state of metering, so there a blind orifice should be set to the oil-in of the multi-way valve; when it does not work, the blind orifice is gated. DTF series of multi-way valve stipulated to take A1 as the blind orifice; please note when using.

Technical Parameter

1. The internal structure adopts the plane sealing technology, which has reduced the rotary moment of the valve rod.
2. The sealing surface are overlaid abrasion-resistant and corrosion-resistant alloy, which has greatly improved the abrasion-resistance and corrosion-resistance of the sealing surface and longer service life of the sealing surface.
3. The scrapper ring specially-designed on the turn arm can shave the dust, impurities and dirt off the sealing surface in advance, which has reduced the abrasion of the sealing materials, increased the service life of the sealing components and improved the reliability of sealing.
4. The unique sealing structure, highly-reliable and long-life sealing mode have enhanced the performance of the whole machine; it is not only applicable to the medium of thin oil, but also applicable to the medium of heavy oil and other gases. 
5. The thickness of the flow path wall and the valve body wall reaches up to 25mm, which not only has a high strength, but also can meet the scouring of the heavy oil containing high sand content towards the flow path. The corrosion allowance of the materials also increases, which has greatly increased the service life of the whole machine.
